On Saturday the 28th January we had two teams go down to the Stoop to participate in the Curtain Raiser Cup organised by Harlequins RFC.

Both teams performed very well on the day with our "A" side qualifying for the Semi-Finals to be held on the 18th Feb.
The other team scored fanstastic tries however they lacked conviction when it came to tagging and as a result lost their games by one or two tries.

Results were as follows:
A-Team - Wimbledon scores first:
v Chobham - Won 6-1
v Canterbury - Won 4-3
v Pulborough - Won 5-0
v Edenbridge - Won 8-1

Both Dorking and clubs have cancelled our fixtures with them this morning due to their pitches being frozen. This effects all mini squads.

It's not quite half way yet however the Christmas break is an ideal time for the coaches to reflect on the season so far as well as ensure that we are still on target to achieve our goals by the end of the season.
Firstly, let me take this opportunity to thank the coaching team for all their efforts, I can without a doubt say that without their enthusiasm and constant support we would be no where near the levels we are currently achieving, so a BIG thank you to them all!

We have had an amazing turnout so far with many new faces and long may it continue this is no small thanks to the hard work that the team has put in behind the scenes during the off season.
As you know, we have had two practices to date, which have been extremely positive I might add with the children showing some real enthusiasm to learn.

Under 7 coaches

Welcome to the new season of under 7’s rugby at Wimbledon Rugby Club.

The U/7’s are for boys and girls aged under 7 on the 1st September 2011.
Coaching sessions are 10am to 12pm on Sunday mornings (11.30am for the U6’s). We also play a variety of festivals, triangular and friendlies throughout the season.

As befits a vibrant and successful club, we have first class facilities including the bar which is open after coaching sessions every Sunday.

Please feel free to join the coaches after practice on any Sunday for a social chat/ drink
